SpineAlign Deep Sleep Hybrid Mattress Review

A good night’s sleep is vital to ensure the proper functioning of the human body and a comfortable mattress is the major prerequisite for a good sleep. That’s just a fact. A good mattress leads to good health. So never take the decision of buying a mattress lightly.

The SpineAlign Deep Sleep Hybrid mattress was designed and approved by sports chiropractor Dr. Loth. He has over 17 years of experience of promoting good posture and spine health. Never happy with the mattresses on the market, Dr. Loth put his experience and knowledge into good use and created SpineAlign. Unlike other mattress companies, SpineAlign delivers mattresses that promote good posture as you sleep. Deep Sleep is their latest hybrid mattress. Will it give you the glorious sleep you’ve always dreamed of? Read on to find out…

Firmness and Feel

The SpineAlign Deep Sleep Hybrid mattress has memory foam feel despite not featuring any memory foam. This provides a soft, yet firm feel. Deeper into the mattress, Serene patented foam contours to the body, but still has a quick bounce back effect. There are three firmness options for the mattress, allowing customers to choose style (soft, medium, and firm) that best suits their sleeping position. The soft option is best for side sleepers who want to feel relief in pressure points like the hips and shoulder. The medium option can suit all sleep styles, providing a balance between support and body contouring. Finally, the firm option is best for stomach or back sleepers who prefer support over body contouring.

The mattress offers a soft feel and contours to the body without any sink in. It provides proper support that allows users to sleep on the mattress rather than in the mattress. The Deep Sleep is ideal for for sleepers who tend to sleep in multiple positions throughout the night. It can truly be all things to all sleepers. And regardless of your firmness preference, you can rest assured that your back will be well supported on this wonderful mattress from SpineAlign.

Edge Support

Edge Support is an underrated feature in any mattress. With poor edge support, you might find yourself slipping off of your bed when sleeping (or even sitting) on the edge. Fortunately, the Deep Sleep performs well in terms of edge support. The quantum edge pocketed coils and high quality density foam that were used in the support layer keep the mattress strong from the middle all the way to the edges.. Foam mattresses typically offer disappointing edge support. But thanks to this clever design, the Deep Sleep avoids this pitfall and offers a strong and supportive mattress that still retains all of the benefits of foam.

Edge Support Rating: 4/5

Motion Isolation

Even though the Deep Sleep is not made with memory foam, it does an excellent job of isolating motion on the mattress. Despite not using any memory foam, it’s incredible how well this unique design shields sleepers from the movement of their partners. You could leap up and down on the bed without fear of disrupting the sleeping person next to you. For anyone who intends to share a mattress, the Deep Sleep is an ideal choice.

Motion Reduction Rating: 4.5/5

Temperature

A mattress that sleeps hot can ruin a serene summer night. That why is it’s so important that mattress manufacturers use breathable materials. The Deep Sleep mattress sleeps relatively cool thanks to the use of both gel infused foam and the patented breathable Serene. Even if you were to buy the soft Deep Sleep that offers the greatest contouring, the mattress simply doesn’t trap heat as much as a mattress with memory foam. Yet another impressive design feat from the good folks at SpineAlign.

Off Gassing

Off-gassing is part of buying new mattresses. It’s merely that “new mattress” smell, not unlike what you experience with a new car. Depending on the type of materials used in making the mattress, the smell may be faint or pungent and sometimes takes a while to dissipate. All mattresses off-gass. The only question is how long it lasts and how much it stinks. Fortunately, the Deep Sleep mattress’ off-gas is mild and disappears within 24 hours. Proper ventilation will speed up the off-gass period and a mattress protector cover the odour on the first night if you are particularly sensitive. Nothing to worry about here!

Delivery and Set Up

The Deep Sleep mattress is compressed, sealed, and delivered in a box. Delivery is available anywhere within the United States and is absolutely free. However, white glove assembly and old mattress removal is not available. Just the basics here.

Materials

The Deep Sleep mattress is 14″ tall and comprised of 5 layers. The mattress cover is made of a soft, durable, and breathable material. This adds a smooth and luxurious feel. The layers of the mattress break down as follows:

An ArcticPHASE Gel-Infused Foam Layer: This is the 2″ comfort layer. It features gel-infused foam that is hyper elastic and similar to memory foam. The gel-infused foam not only provides comfort and support, but is responsible for keeping the mattress cool. The material also has antibacterial properties that provides a comfortable and healthy environment for sleepers.

A Patented Serene Comfort Foam Layer: This layer is made of 1.5″ of patented foam. Serene foam is made with billions of tiny air bubbles that allow for good airflow. This foam also contours to the sleeper’s body, which help relive pressure and provides strong support for the spine.

A PrimeTRA Foam Layer: This is a 1.5″ layer of high density foam. It is similar to polyfoam and acts as a transitional layer to increase the durability of the mattress.

A Layer Of MAX Engineered Pocketed Coils: This support layer is comprised of 8″ pocketed coils. The coils move independently and provide additional support. This layer increases the responsiveness of the mattress and isolates motion.

Base layer: This final layer is made of 1″ HD foam. The foam increases the support of the mattress and serves as sturdy foundation.

Trials and Warranty

SpineAlign mattresses ship with a 100-night sleep trial. Customers can return their mattress at any point during this trial period and receive a full refund. The mattress also has a 10-year warranty, which starts the day that the mattress is purchased. The company will replace or repair any defective mattress during this period (excluding any damage that is as a result of user mishandling). Since most mattresses ship with 25-year or lifetime warranties these days, this is a bit disappointing.

Customer Reviews

From the Memory Foam Talk review:

‘The SpineAlign Deep Sleep Hybrid mattress is a great coil / foam hybrid that provides the benefits of both innerspring and memory foam mattresses all wrapped up with high-quality materials and excellent craftsmanship which makes it truly a luxury hybrid mattress and unlike any other that can be found on the online mattress market these days. The SpineAlign provides just the right amount of support and comfort to keep your spine properly aligned and provide you with a correct sleeping posture without causing the appearance of pressure points. There is also an optimal degree of bounce and responsiveness with this mattress coming from the use of the pocketed coils in its construction and gel-infused foam layer on top. Although this may cause some motion transfer, there won’t be much of it as the multiple layers of memory foam help minimize movement between sleepers. It also has minimal sinkage and good edge support and sleeps incredibly cool due to the use of gel-infused and breathable Serene foam layer in its comfort layers as well as the pocketed coil layer that increases the airflow through the mattress and helps prevent the build-up of excessive body heat. So, if you are looking for a luxury and comfortable hybrid mattress, you definitely can’t go wrong choosing the SpineAlign Deep Sleep Hybrid. It’s a great mattress for couples and all those who like the bounce of innerspring mattresses and the hug and contour of foam’

Overall Value and Recommendation

The SpineAlign Deep Sleep impressed us across the board. This hybrid mattress is comfortable, durable, cool, and made from fantastic materials. In addition to all those qualities that we normally examine, the Deep Sleep was designed by a sports chiropractor and is ideal for sleepers who struggle with back pain or discomfort. The mattress also ships in several firmness options to ensure that every customers can find one that works for them. However, the mattress is a bit pricey. A twin size is $1199 while the king rings in at $1999. The warranty is also a bit disappointing. So, while we highly recommend the Deep Sleep, perhaps that recommendation should come with the caveat that this mattress is really only for customers who have an unlimited budget to splurge.
