Sleep EZ Mattress Review
Sleep is vital to your health and wellbeing. Quite often we don’t value our sleep nearly as much as we should. After all, you can only get quality sleep on a quality mattress that is suited to your individual needs. Not enough people put as much thought and care into choosing their mattress as necessary. Not you of course. You are here researching to find a mattress that will ensure you sleep as well as possible. All of which brings up to Sleep EZ. This company has been in the mattress business since 1976. They currently have 4 models. This review will focus on their Roma model. Let’s find out if it lives up to the hype…
Comfort and Feel
There are many different sleepers with many different preferences out there (especially when it comes to the firmness of their mattress). Anyone who buys an EZ Sleep Roma can choose between a medium and firm option. Not all mattresses give customers this choice, which is possibly the the exciting aspect of the Roma dual firm mattress.
The two different firmness options makes this mattress ideal for couples who are different types of sleepers. The medium option best for side sleepers (although it generally works all types of sleepers, especially those tend to shift positions throughout the night), while the firm option is is more suitable for stomach and back sleepers.
Sleep EZ covers a broad spectrum of sleepers with their dual firm design. The mattress provides not only comfort, but support to all sleepers.

Motion isolation is an important feature in every mattress, especially for couples that sleep away their nights together. Motion isolation ensures that if one sleep partner frequently moves or leaves the mattress throughout the night, the other won’t be disturbed. Most latex mattresses effectively minimize and isolate motion transfer, which can cut down on those nighttime disruptions. The Sleep EZ Roma mattress boasts exceptional motion isolation. Although it should be noted that thinner mattresses may fall a little bit short as there are less materials that absorb less motion. Since the Roma is only 9″ thick, the motion isolation is not as strong as it could be. If you sleep alone or don’t mind feeling a slight movement from your sleeping partner, then obviously this won’t be an issue. However, if motion isolation is the most important selling point of any mattress for you and your partner, then you may want to seek out one of the other Sleep EZ latex models.
Motion Isolation Rating: 3.25/5
Edge support is another important feature to consider when buying a mattress. Mattresses should be able to support sleepers from the centre all the way to the edge. A mattress that lacks strong edge support isn’t necessarily bad. It solely depends on the individual sleeper and whether they need strong support to sleep on the edges of their mattress.
Most mattresses made purely from latex tend to have poor edge support, except for those that have pocketed coils in the support layer. All of the Sleep EZ mattress models lack pocketed coils, so edge support is one area where they fall short. This creates a smaller sleep surface and can lead to an awkward sleep experience for some couples. Again, the 9″ thickness of this bed left something to be desired here. If you do not have a sleep partner, then that may not make a difference to you. But if you do have a sleep partner or are a heavier sleeper, then you may want to seek out a thicker mattress from Sleep EZ.
Edge Support Rating 2.4/5
Some people find it hard to sleep on a mattress that traps heat. Latex mattresses are known to be breathable as they allow the flow of air in and out of the mattress through the aeration of the latex foam. Every Sleep EZ mattress model will be well suited for anyone who absolutely do not want to sleep hot. I tend to sleep hot and was pleasantly surprised by how well latex provides air low for a cooler sleep. If you sleep in multiple positions and tend to sleep hot, then the EZ Sleep Roma should give you everything that you need.

Off-gassing is part of owning a new mattresses. There isn’t actually any gas involved. It’s merely a “new mattress” smell not unlike what you’d expect from a fresh pair of shoes or a new car. The only potential problems are the concentration of the smell and how long it takes to disperse. All Sleep EZ mattresses off-gas, but thankfully not for long. Customers have reported little more than a mild rubbery odour that is neither strong nor persistent. Feel free to air out the mattress in a well ventilated room or use a mattress protector if this is a major concern. The Sleep EZ Roma truly doesn’t have much of a smell and it should be gone within a day or two at most.
Off-Gassing Rating: 4.78/5
Delivery and Set Up
The Sleep EZ Roma mattress is roll-packed and vacuum-sealed in plastic for shipping. Delivery is offered to all the states in the U.S, including Alaska and Hawaii (even Canadians can order this thing). Delivery to all the 48 contiguous states is free. Customers ordering from Alaska and Hawaii will incur a delivery fee of $99, while those from Canada will pay $149 for delivery (this also cover import fees and taxes). Your mattress will be assembled and shipped within two working days. Delivery should take between two and five days depending on your location. Sleep EZ does not offer expedited delivery. Their delivery services are carried out by UPS Ground, therefore they don’t provide services like in-home assembly or old mattress removal.
One of the primary reasons that we chose to review Sleep EZ, along with every other product on this site, is because it utilizes organic, natural, and CertiPUR-US Certified foams. CertiPUR-US is a certification program administered by a not-for-profit organization. CertiPUR-US certified foams are:
✓ Made without ozone depleters.
✓ Made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (”Tris”) flame retardants.
✓ Made without mercury, lead, and other heavy metals.
✓ Made without formaldehyde.
✓ Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
✓ Made with Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million).
The EZ Sleep Roma latex is a flippable mattress. Each side features an organic-cotton cover quilted to a foam layer. The shared support core is made of 100% natural Dunlop latex. The Dunlop latex and the organic cotton cover have been explained earlier. The organic cover is quilted to a CertiPUR-US certified foam layer. The quilting foam acts like a mattress casing made of organic cotton. Although the Roma is just 9″ thick, the materials used to make this mattress are of an exceptional quality, especially considering the price. With everything that this mattress has to offer, Sleep EZ could have charged nearly double their current asking price (which starts at $495 for a twin size)!

Trial and Warranty Period
The Sleep EZ Roma mattress comes with a 90-night trial period. Unlike other mattress that have a mandatory 30 nights break-in period, Sleep EZ does not have any mandatory break-in period. A customer can return the mattress anytime they desire, but there is a fee of $99 for all mattress returns.
The Roma mattress comes with a 10-year non-prorated warranty. There are terms and conditions to abide by if you want to get the full benefit of the warranty coverage. The warranty will be void if the mattress is used with a foundation featuring slats spaced more than 3″ apart. The warranty will not be renewed or extended after repairs or replacements have been made. Mattress owners are responsible for all shipping and handling costs associated with repairs or replacements at any time during the 10 year warranty. Their mattress cover is covered under a separate single year warranty
Most mattress companies now offer a lifetime warranty and free shipping/repairs. So this is quite disappointing and suggests that EZ Sleep haven’t updated their trial and warranty package in quite some time.

‘The Roma has quite a bit going for it. It has an unassuming look but it is made with quality material. The durable latex will give this mattress a long life and the channel quilted foam gives you great pressure relief. I tried both sides of the Roma and as a side/stomach sleeper, the medium side felt best. Back and dedicated stomach sleepers will likely prefer the firmer side.
This mattress comes with a 10-year warranty. You have 90 days to try the mattress and if you don’t like it you can return it minus a $99 fee’
Overall Value and Recommendation
The only disadvantages I see in a Sleep EZ Roma mattress is the poor edge support and mandatory $99 fee for all returns. Apart from that, this mattress has impressive materials that perform well and you can’t beat that price. The company has been in business for a long time, therefore the credibility is without question. They even have an A+ rating from BBB. I recommend this mattress to anyone that is looking for quality sleep at an affordable price from a company proved themselves within the mattress industry for more than 40 years. This sucker delivers the goods.
