Bear Mattress Protector Review

The Bear mattress protector features a five-sided breathable material with a soft absorbable top. It is said to guarantee that liquid or oily spills don’t get to your mattress and void your warranty. But is it really worth its price tag? Let us take a look into three aspects.

Materials

The bear mattress protector is built off HeiQ technology notable for transporting moisture and heat away from sleepers’ bodies and also protectingboth mattress and sleeper from dust insects, bacteria and other toxic allergens. It is 100 per cent waterproof and tailor-made to work with celliant technology. The Bear mattress protector, with its adaptive HeiQ tech, does not feel like other mattress protectors. It has a unique texture and high performance functionality. While the surface of the Bear mattress protector is soft, absorbent and snuggly, the back of it is made of a 100 percent waterproof barrier that looks like neoprene. This waterproof barrier is much thicker than the polyurethane material used in less costly brands.

Comfort

If you are someone who wets the bed, sweats a lot, sleeps with your pets or have young children who like to sleep in your bed, then you will love the Bear mattress protector. The protector is hypoallergenic and anti-allergenic and protects against bacteria, dust mites and bed bugs, so you can say bye-bye to flaring up each time you wake. The thicker material on the back of the absorbent top of the protector holds water for longer than you can think of and keeps your mattress from getting soaked.

If you sweat a lot, the soft, absorbent top will wick the moisture away and make you sleep cooler. In theory, theHeiQ adaptive fabric technology makes sure that your body heat is managed by deflecting the heat out of the protector. For best results, says Bear mattress, pair with Celiant technology. In actuality though, there are no noticeable changes, and users have been known to complain of sleeping warmer. If you sleep hot, this protector is not for you.

You can choose to use it with or without bedsheets although it feels a little stiff when you use it with sheets. The protector is sadly prone to crinkling and you can hear faint noises when you move around. The softness more than makes up for it though.

Value

The Queen size retails for about $110 on Bear’s website. The King size protector is valued at $125, and Twin protector size is a much lower $75. These prices are high, but Bear’s overall build quality makes a strong case for this price tag. Bear mattress protectors come with ten year warranties against structural issues and craftsmanship problems. You get free shipping via FedEx between four and seven days. The return policy is problematic, though, as you can only return unopened protectors within 30 days. If you unbox it and find something wrong with it, you will not be able to return it, and that’s messed up.
