Sleeping with the wrong support under your head can be equally as uncomfortable as sleeping on an old mattress. Without the correct level of comfort we can be left aching all day, grumpy and sore from lack of sleep. We set out to find the perfect pillow and the PureTree Certified Natural Shredded Latex Foam pillow is up next to go under the microscope. Without further ado let’s take a closer look at some of its components and see if it scores highly in the perfect pillow stakes.

The PureTree is 100% made from GOTS Certified Organic Cotton and, like all of our pillows, it sports Centri-Pur US certification meaning that it does not contain harmful fumes or toxic chemicals. As well as fully organic and Control Union Certified cotton it also has 100% natural and pure OEKO-TEX standard shredded latex; harvested from the sap of the rubber tree. The lining and cover are of the full, soft cotton and the whole thing is machine washable.

We like how much attention to detail they have provided and we love the naturalness of this pillow. Nothing other than fully organic ingredients have been used in its making and it even has a double zipper for adjustable filling, giving the option of different variations of firmness. The research department at PureTree have really spent a lot of time on development.

We gave the PureTree Certified Natural Shredded Latex Foam Pillow a 5 out of 5 for materials, although we can’t help but think the name is a little long.

The aim of the natural rubber latex is to conform to the shape of your head and provide a comfortable level of cradling support. This can be improved or decreased should you add or remove extra filling to your liking. The reason for shredding the latex is to promote airflow under your head as you sleep, providing a cool sleeping surface from which the cotton can wick away any moisture that there might be.

Unlike other wholly natural pillows this one can be thrown in the washing machine, an added point to their comfort score because nobody likes to sleep on a sticky or balmy pillow. As an additional bonus this pillow will not need re-stuffed because latex will not lose its shape the way other materials might.

We gave the PureTree a 4.5 out of 5 for comfort. We would like to see a few other materials in there, with only two it seems a little simple, even though it is undeniably a comfortable pillow.

The shredded latex pieces in this pillow are deliberately cut to different sizes, this means that airflow is still possible while providing maximum support for your head and neck. You can stuff the pillow as much or as little as you like. So, if you are not supported enough from the outset it is easy to puff it up. A huge problem with super-supportive pillows is trapped heat, but this does not happen with the PureTree.

We gave the PureTree a 5 out of 5 for support because it gives us endless options.

The PureTree carries an overall customer satisfaction rating of around the 4.8 out of five star mark and we don’t disagree. This is a very high quality pillow which will last you a long time without losing its shape, without fumes and without the need to fluff. It is machine washable and easy enough to fill if you need it, and customers seem very pleased that they have received a polished end product that is durable and comfortable.

We had no choice but to give the PureTree a 5 out of 5 for comfort, we couldn’t find a single bad review.

Overall the PureTree Certified Natural Shredded latex pillow earned a whopping 19.5 out of a total of twenty stars. One of our best pillows yet!
