Brentwood uses 100% natural materials to construct a mattress that will not only provide good sleep for your baby, but it is also eco-friendly and healthy. The materials used include organic latex and organic coconut husk. These materials are all grown organically, making them healthy to use for baby’s mattress. Organic latex is sourced from the sap of a rubber tree. Latex is a common material used in the construction of mattresses, as it has the desirable properties of both polyfoam and memory foam. It has quicker bounce back response to pressure and does not trap heat. The material is  breathable, which ensures good flow of air in and out of the mattress. Organic latex is also hypo-allergic – it does not have any effect on sleepers with skin infection or allergies.

The bottom layer features 3″ organic coconut husk. This material is also organic and eco-friendly. The material is sourced from the husk of ripe coconuts and processed into natural fibrous woven strands. The material is naturally springy, which provides the mattress with a good support, and it is breathable, just like the organic latex. The material is durable and is produced at a lower cost.

The mattress can be used on either side. The top features the 1″ organic latex, which has a softer feel than the bottom side that features 3″ organic coconut husk. Depending on the age of your baby, you can choose either of the sides. The soft side is ideal for toddlers while the firm side is ideal for infants. The soft side has a little sinkage which can be dangerous for babies since they cannot raise their heads while sleeping, whereas toddlers can lift their head up.
